Privacy

The Board of Directors of I.Can Foundation (ICF) has adopted this policy to ensure that our organization complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

This privacy policy pertains to I.Can Foundation's database that it maintains for the following reasons:

1. mailing of ICF communications, such as our national newsletter,
2. mailing of ICF fundraising letters or reports, and
3. reporting of statistics for the Annual Report or other purposes (only numbers are used, no names are associated with the statistics)

Our database is housed at I.Can Foundation's, offices in Ontario and on one other select, secure computer whose operator is engaged in maintaining our database, soliciting contributions and assistance from volunteers, as well as receiving donations. The information in a person's file consists of:

• Name
• Mailing address
• Telephone number
• Fax number (optional)
• Email address (optional)
• Status within the organization (e.g. volunteer, donor, etc.) and program you are part of or have indicated you want to support

ICF affirms that

• all those people whose names are in our database have the right to know what information has been collected about them and how it is used, and
• anyone who wishes to have their personal information removed from all or any part of the database may do so by contacting us according to the details provided below.
• I.Can Foundation does NOT trade, sell or give away information contained in our database.

Updating, removing or asking for full information from us:

• If you want to know what information is on file about you, update the information in your file or tell us to remove your name from certain mailings (such as the newsletter), please contact the office by mail at the coordinates supplied on our website, www.icanfoundation.ca. We will comply with all requests of this kind. Please supply a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Allow 30 days for a response.

2. ICF website

People who visit our website do not need to reveal any personal information to us.

If you voluntarily submit personal information to us, we may collect, maintain and use that information to contact you, including by e-mail. We may contact you if you have asked us for information and we may use your personal information to send you a newsletter once a year.

I.Can Foundation has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites that are linked to our website.
